We constantly receive applications from professional drivers from all over the world – as do many other companies. On the one hand, this is very welcome. On the other hand, many of these applications are generated by artificial intelligence and are very generic – sent almost indiscriminately. Consequently, many of these applications are never even opened; often, they are simply ignored and go unanswered. This primarily is true for applications from Tunisia and Morocco.

The real issue with these applications is that the candidates lack an EU driver’s license and the corresponding EU driver qualification. With only a national Class C or CE license, it is virtually impossible to secure a job in Germany.

Applications welcome

For this reason, we advise against sending out applications indiscriminately. It is a waste of effort. And, since we keep receiving inquiries about this: The idea of paying for the driver’s license yourself is admirable. The only way to do this would be to enter Germany using the “Opportunity Card” (*Chancenkarte*) visa. You can check here yourself whether you qualify for it. However, there is no guarantee that you will find a job afterwards; the risk and costs are entirely yours to bear. We would advise against this approach.

Of course, every application is unique. But the most common reasons for rejection are:

  1. Poorly prepared application documents
  2. Business plans without answers to the points listed above
  3. Lack of credible proof of the relocation of the center of life for entrepreneurs who do not completely abandon their business in their country of origin.

Our tip: German authorities make decisions based on written documents. There is no “renegotiation.” AI-generated documents often fail to convince the regional experts who review the applications. You have to analyze the regional circumstances very carefully and incorporate them into the application. So, it’s often not a legal problem in the strictest sense. Rather, you have to convincingly demonstrate to the region where you want to do business why you would be a welcome addition to the local economy.
